About this recipe

Enjoy these warm and fluffy Air Fryer Cinnamon Sugar Dough Balls – a delightful treat that's crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and coated in a sweet cinnamon sugar goodness.

If baking in the oven use at the same temperature and time as the recipe below but make sure your oven is preheated and place on a lined baking tray.

Ingredients

Dough Balls:

  • 250ml Plain Yoghurt
  • 400g Self Raising Flour

Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

  • 1 egg , mixed*
  • 50g melted butter
  • 50g caster sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon

*For a vegan alternative, swap the yoghurt and butter for a plant based alternative and replace the egg with a plant based milk

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the plain yogurt and self-raising flour. Mix until you have a smooth and slightly sticky dough. If the dough is too sticky, you can add a little more flour, but don't overdo it.
  2. Break off small pieces of dough and roll them into bite-sized balls, about 1 inch in diameter. You should have approximately 20-24 dough balls.
  3. Place the dough balls in the preheated air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they are not touching then cover them with a small amount of egg.
  4. Air fry at 180 degrees Celsius for about 10 minutes or until the dough balls are golden brown and cooked through. You may need to work in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  5. While the dough balls are cooking, prepare the cinnamon sugar coating. In a shallow bowl, mix together the caster sugar and ground cinnamon.
  6. When the dough balls are done, immediately brush them with the melted butter and then roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat them evenly.

Serve:

  1. Transfer the coated dough balls to a serving platter. They are best enjoyed warm, so serve them right away for a delightful treat.
